Hey Krafty friends, I was inspired by Altenew’s October 2022 Inspiration Challenge to create this card. I loved the challenge of using those colors together and I have a ton of Altenew flower stamp and dies, so I wanted to try the challenge again!

Step 1: Stamping to make my background

I grabbed a card base I already had cut out and scored from some 110 lb Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and placed it in my large Memory Misti. I then used Altenew’s Dotted Diamonds background stamp set for the background. I first stamped it in Nuvo’s Hybrid Ink in Shamrock Green. Then I offset the stamp a little facing the same direction and stamped it again using Altenew’s Crisp Dye Ink in the color Butternut.

Step 2: Die cutting the flower and leaves

Next, I picked out some colors of cardstock I had in my stash that went with the challenge colors to use with a flower die set. I used Altenew’s Layered Wood Flower Die Set. I cut the base of the flower in a light pink and the next top layer in white. For the center/stamen I used two different colors of yellow for the two die pieces. For the leaves I use the darker of the yellows as the base color. For the second leaf layer I used a lighter green. And for the third/top layer I used a dark green. I then glued all of the pieces together as shown on the directions, with my Nuvo glue pen and let dry with a stamp block on top to help the layers stick together.

Step 3: Adding a sentiment

For the sentiment, I used Altenew’s Floral Sprig stamp set and chose the Happy Birthday sentiment. I grabbed my background/card base that was still in my Misti and stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Step 4: Putting it all together

Next, I arranged my flower and leaves how I liked them on the background. Then placed a piece of press and seal on top the layout to help keep the pieces laid out together how I liked. Next, I removed the pieces from the background with the press and seal keeping them in place and turned them over to glue together on the back and add dimensional foam. Then I turned it back over and placed/glued it down on the background. Lastly, I added some bling with some pink gems from PinkFresh Studio’s Essentials Collection Jewel Mix!

So, there it is! The step-by-step process for this card.  I was happy with how it came out as I wasn’t sure how the colors would come together. This flower die set was also an easy one to put together as the flower doesn’t have a whole lot of pieces like some others! I hope you guys like is as well, and that it gives you some inspiration.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how I made this card or the supplies I used.

Your Krafty Friend,

Tiffani
